This is a mirror of the Gaia data release 3 from the European Space Agency hosted by Flatiron Institute at SDSC, San Diego, CA, USA. Important links to official Gaia data release documentation: - On-line documentation: https://gea.esac.esa.int/archive/documentation/GDR3/index.html - DOI: https://archives.esac.esa.int/doi/html/data/astronomy/gaia/DR3.html - Credit and citation instructions: https://gea.esac.esa.int/archive/documentation/GDR3/Miscellaneous/sec_credit_and_citation_instructions/ From this interface, all the tables from Gaia DR3 are available in three formats: - gbin: The original RAW distribution of the data. The Java-based tools for extracting this are available under docs/GaiaDataLibs-20.2.0 - csv: The extracted ECSV format files from the GBIN. Missing values are represented by empty fields. Files are gzip-compressed. - hdf5: A one-to-one conversion of the ECSV files. Each field is represented by a single dataset. Some string fields have been converted to enumerations or integers for convenience. Strings and arrays may be fixed- or variable-length depending on their structure. Missing or padded values are represeted by the fill value, which depends on type (usually min or max val). Most tables are split into 3386 separate files based on their HEALpix index level 8 (which can be computed by source_id >> 43). These data are available in two ways through Flatiron Institute: - Globus: https://app.globus.org/file-manager?origin_id=90f5713a-e74d-11ec-9bd2-2d2219dcc1fa - HTTP: https://sdsc-users.flatironinstitute.org/~gaia/dr3 You can also interact with, browse, and download subsets of the data through our front-end: https://flathub.flatironinstitute.org/gaiadr3
